- To produce a speeded up or slowed down tempo track you can use your
- Korg i-4S or you can use Sequencing Software on your computer.. Both
- perform very much the same thing.. With the i-4S, in the BSEQ mode, you
- can flip between the various 8 extra tracks (not the style tracks) and
- find a TEMPO track which you can edit and input tempo changes at
- intervals within the score wherever you want to put them.. With a MIDI
- Sequencing software pogram on your computer, you can do much the same
- thing by adding tempo changes in a separate track.. For both methods,
- when the file plays you'll notice the tempo changes taking place.. You
- then save out the file and this will be retained in either the BSEQ or
- MID.. You can save out the BSEQ as a .MID from the i-4S and port this
- into your i4S 16-track SMF sequencer.. You can also edit the Tempo
- track in the 16-track sequencer by toggling the track numbers at the
- bottom of the LCD screen until you reach the TEMPO TRACK and then you
- can edit this with tempo changes, (faster or slower), until you achieve
- the desired effect you're looking for.. Again, if you save this out as
- a .SNG or .MID then the tempo changes will be embedded within the
- files..

- If you want to produce drums and bass backing for some song ideas
- which you may be working on then work out how many bars your song plays
- for, then enter the BACKING SEQENCER and find a STYLE that you think
- may go with your song.. Then play the chords for an INTRO, VAR, FILLS
- and ENDING until you're satisfied that these bits virtually fit the
- song idea which you may have, then save this out as both a .BSEQ and a
- MID.. You can then import the .MID into the 16-track SMF sequencer and
- discard any of the other tracks but retain the drums and bass.. Then
- use this to play along with the other instruments you wish to construct
- by playing in the 16-track sequencer yourself... When completed you'll
- have produced a pretty professional sounding song.. The final song can
- of course be saved to floppy diskette as both .SNG and .MID format for
- backup purposes..

- I shouldn't put any stickers on your i4S because this may reduce the
- selling price if you come to sell your Korg in the future.. If you
- really want a keyboard with markings on them, then Korg do a i5S which
- has all that stuff on it already.. If you want to learn what MIDI drum
- notes correspond to what drum instruments on the i4-S then consult your
- PERFORMANCE NOTES Manual, this contains detailed information relating
- to this very subject for all the ROM and user Kits in the i-Series
- Workstation range. If you use some Sequencing software in your computer
- then you could combine using this along with the Korg i4-S and this may
- help learning about what's actually inside your Workstation. You can do
- everything and more with your i4-S except produce your own i-Series
- styles.. Go for it..
